USMS Spring 2022 NATIONAL CHAMPIONS
LONE STAR MASTERS (LSM), is a collection of swimmers who like to attend meets and especially swim RELAYS.
2022 Spring Nationals in San Antonio is now in the books. Four days, 288 clubs, 1800 swimmers and Lone Star Masters came out on top with 1,944 points. Not only toping the other “Local Clubs”, New York Athletic, 1,281 and Swim Fort Lauderdale, 1,231 – BUT we even had more than the big first place “Regional Club”, Colorado Masters at 1,728. I have never had more fun and been more exhausted at a swim meet, nor have I ever been with a more positive, enthusiastic, and HAPPY group of swimmers! Thanks to all of you who made this crazy dream come true to recreate the winning ways of the “original” Lone Star Masters with their National Championship 40 years ago in 1982. And special shout out to my assistant coach, Jacky Yen and Diana Brodeur, helping manage all of those 72 relays!
There are NO DUES to be a part of LSM as there is no “home pool”. Just continue swimming at your local watering hole. But I would appreciate everyone entering your yardage in your FLOG (Fitness Log) on the USMS website https://www.usms.org/myusms/flog/ . That $.07 per mile from our LMSC constitutes the total of my “Coordinator” volunteer salary.
